Summary of Avalon Annual Meeting on April 26
Congratulations and welcome to our newly-elected board members who will serve a two-year term! Vice President is Mat Sturdevant vicepresident@avalonhoasc.com and Treasurer is Renard Green treasurer@avalonhoasc.com.
Two board members are halfway through a two-year term: President Elizabeth Reed-van Staveren president@avalonhoasc.com and Secretary Jane Borgstedt secretary@avalonhoasc.com.
In response to community concerns that have been raised regarding quality-of-life in Avalon, the board discussed and voted to implement a fine structure to address this need. The fine is enforceable for all covenant violations, including nuisance issues.
The board was specifically asked about street parking which burdens the homeowners’ ability to reasonably carry on with their activities as well as excessive dog barking through the night.
The fine structure will be as follows:
1st Violation: Notice of violation and a fine of $50
2nd Violation: Notice of violation and a fine of $75
3rd Violation: Notice of violation and a fine of $100
For reference, we have included the nuisances clause:
Section 5. Nuisances. No noxious or offensive activity shall be carried on upon any Lot, nor
shall anything be done thereon which may be or may become an annoyance or nuisance to the neighborhood. Such nuisance shall include, but not be limited to, the use or power tools generating noise which can be heard beyond the boundary of a Lot between the hours of 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM. No owner shall permit anything to be done or kept on his Lot which would result in the cancellation of insurance on any other residence or which would be in violation of any law.
Thank you to those who have volunteered to serve on committees:
