Updating Avalon Information
Earlier this month a form was distributed to all homes in Avalon which requested contact information to be updated and returned to the HOA Secretary, Jane Borgstedt at 500 Wilts Court, to The Board at Avalon Homeowners Association at P.O. Box 2473, Irmo, SC 29063, or electronically to the board at board@avalonhoasc.com. Please return it by February 1.
Avalon Directory Online
Since we continually have new residents moving into our community, we are creating a link to a digital Avalon Directory on our website. The directory is updated as needed and should have new information at least monthly. New homeowners will be given a flash drive that contains our covenants, by-laws, and the link to the digital directory.
New Residents in Avalon
Welcome to our new homeowners, Ken and Pat Forrester and their son, Shaun, who moved into 481 Annondale Road in December.
Leadership Needed in Avalon
We still need a Neighborhood Watch Chair to be a liaison to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and our Resident Deputy. Thank you to Pamela Hemphill and Tracy Craven who have volunteered to lead the Social Committee.
For the open treasurer position, we will be waiting until the Avalon Annual Meeting in April to elect a new treasurer, as we hold elections for all positions.
Reminders for Our Community
If you have any security incidents, report them directly to the Sheriff’s Department.
Street parking is not allowed when garage or driveway parking is available (Article XI, Section 12). The board understands the need to use the roadway for parking, at times, however they request that overnight parking in the roadway is avoided as doing so causes further visual impairments for drivers, increasing risks to pedestrians after sundown.
Before making structural changes to your home or yard, you need to fill out a PIR form (available on our website), as per Article VI Section 4, and you can submit the PIR to arb@avalonhoasc.com or deliver it to the board at our P.O. Box. Please put in reasonable effort to obtain acknowledgement signatures by your neighbors on the PIR to reduce the possibility of complaints and to address concerns before architectural or topographical changes begin.
